On December 22, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, at which the results of socio-economic development in the past year and plans for 2024 were discussed.

From January 1 to 10, Turkmenistan will host New Year celebrations for children. Within the framework of the events, 4 thousand children will receive gifts on behalf of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

Turkmen and Iranian artists will hold an exhibition of fine arts, master classes and a joint forum.

The Fashion House of the Ministry of Textile Industry of Turkmenistan will host a show of Turkmen national costumes.
An award ceremony will be held for the winners of the children's competition named after Gulbaba.
A forum and exhibition will be organized on the occasion of the announcement of the city of Anau as the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2024.

Until December 20 in Turkmenistan, employees of all institutions and enterprises, regardless of their form of ownership, were paid wages ahead of schedule, and pensions, state benefits and scholarships were fully funded.

At the Seydi Oil Refinery, deep oil processing units are being reconstructed through the introduction of modern technologies.
Industry
New modern production facilities will be created at the “Guwlyduz” plant in the Balkan velayat of Turkmenistan, focused on the production of various types of environmentally friendly and high-quality salt.
Transport
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed the Resolution “On the creation of an interdepartmental commission on aviation security of civil aviation of Turkmenistan”.
The international cooperation
During the 49th plenary meeting of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly, the Resolutions proposed by Turkmenistan “Strengthening connections between all modes of transport to achieve sustainable development goals” and “The key role of reliable and stable energy connectivity in ensuring sustainable development” were unanimously adopted.
Turkmenistan will create a working group within the UN that will determine the main directions and content of the Global Security Strategy proposed by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov based on the principles of the UN Charter and generally recognized norms of international law.
The working group is expected to include representatives of countries belonging to the Group of Friends of Neutrality.
Turkmenistan, together with specialized UN agencies, will begin preparing the Cooperation Program between Turkmenistan and the UN for 2026-2030. Relevant work will begin in the first quarter of 2024.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, voiced a proposal to open new areas within the structure of the Ombudsman’s Office to protect the rights of children, women and entrepreneurs.
Culture
The “Turkmensvyaz” Agency is preparing an encyclopedia of Magtymguly Fragi in printed and digital formats, as well as an Internet portal about the founder of Turkmen classical literature. A creative competition will also be organized to develop designs for a postage stamp for the 300th anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly.
