Reverence and respect for freedom of religion is highly valued in Turkmenistan - Priest of the Mary Church Dmitry Kireev

In the city of Mary in the south of Turkmenistan, festive events on the occasion of Christmas was held in the Church of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos. A festive divine service and a Christmas fair were held in this holy monastery, writes CentralAsia.news.

Numerous representatives of the Orthodox community took part in the festive prayer service. Before the holy parish, a traditional Christmas market was launched.

As the priest of the Mary church Dmitry Kireev shared, the bright holiday of the Nativity of Christ bestows warmth and faith, awakens mercy, compassion and love in the souls of people.

“In the warm, friendly and hospitable Turkmen land, such holidays are always celebrated widely and freely, because here the veneration and respect for freedom of religion is highly valued”, the report says.
