Scientists have experimentally calculated the scariest horror film

According to scientists, the scariest horror film can be called the film “Sinister,” writes Gazeta.ru with reference to MoneySuperMarket.

The ranking of the most impressive “horror films” was compiled within the framework of the Science of Scare project and based on heartbeat readings while watching the film. The higher the pulse, the stronger the impact of what is happening on the screen, scientists suggested.

The most frequent pulse was observed among the experiment participants while watching “Sinister” directed by Scott Derrickson. The plot of the film is based on a fairly common cliche, when the main character settles in a house with a bad past and finds strange, frightening videos.

Second place in terms of impact on the viewer went to the film “Insidious: Online”, in third place was the film “Paranormal Activity. Skinamarink”.

The list of the scariest horror films also includes “The Conjuring”, “Reincarnation”, “Smile”, “The Exorcism of Emily Rose”, “Two, Three, Demon Come!”, “The Descent” and “It” in 2014.
