President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, who arrived today in Samarkand to participate in a meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization as an honored guest, visited the mausoleum of Islam Karimov, reports Bright Uzbekistan.
The head of Turkmenistan, as a sign of respect for the memory of the first President of Uzbekistan and the embodiment of friendship and solidarity between the peoples of the two countries, laid flowers at the grave of Islam Karimov.
The program of the visit also includes a visit by Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the “Hazrat Hizr” memorial complex.
Upon arrival in Samarkand, the President of Turkmenistan held today bilateral meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping and SCO Secretary General Zhang Ming.
Earlier it was reported that on the sidelines of the summit, the Turkmen leader will also hold bilateral talks with President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
