The American Film Academy has published the shortlists of candidates for the “2024 Oscar”. 10 categories present films that have already received recognition from critics and audiences, writes Film.ru.
The leader in the number of nominations was “Barbie” with five mentions. Also well represented are “Killers of the Flower Moon”, “Oppenheimer”, “Napoleon”, “The Unfortunate” and “Spider-Man: Web of Spider-Verses”.
Wes Anderson's “The Marvelous Story of Henry Sugar” and Pedro Almodóvar's “A Strange Way of Life” will compete in the “Best Short Fiction Film” category.
“Oscar” nominations will be announced on January 23. The award ceremony will be held on the night of March 10-11. The ceremony will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.
