Snowfall in the mountainous regions of Georgia caused a traffic jam on the border with Russia

On the Georgian Military Highway, at the Upper Lars checkpoint on the Russian-Georgian border, a huge traffic jam has formed, writes MIR 24. The reason is prolonged snowfalls that blocked the main transport artery of the region.

Drivers of trucks carrying goods to and from Georgia have been standing for several days waiting for good weather. Part of the trucks stuck on the Russian side are sent to temporary parking lots in Vladikavkaz.

Roads are covered with snow mainly on Georgian territory. Work is underway to clear roads, the movement for the participation of Gudauri-Kobi in Georgia has already been partially restored.
