Symposium of Observers of Turkic World Takes Place in Istanbul

The Symposium of Observers of Turkic World, designed to promote the exchange of experience, literature and culture of Turkic peoples, opened on Thursday in Istanbul, Türkiye.

Turkmenistan is represented at the symposium by delegates from the Business Turkmenistan online media, ORIENT, news agency Media-Turkmen, the Atavatan Turkmenistan magazine, Turkmenportal news portal and SalamNews online media outlet.

Associate Professor Oguz Goksu, head of the Press and Broadcasting Unit at the Office of Presidential Communications of Türkiye and board member of TRT, spoke at the opening ceremony. Yahya Bostan, executive committee member and coordinating editor of Anadolu Agency, also spoke at the event.

The Turkic Observers Symposium highlighted the promotion of Turkish language in Turkic countries, identifying and countering the spread of fake information in social media.

The speakers noted that the social network is more developed in the world, that people can use this network in any sphere, as a result of which fake news spread more rapidly, and the governments should find the best solution to combat this issue and fix it legally.

The participants of the event discussed the role of the media in the international space, as well as the future significance of the Organization of Turkic States.

Moreover, executives from Türkiye's leading energy companies, namely Ahmet Türksoy, Deputy General Manager of Turkish Petroleum (TPAO), Avni Chebi, Deputy Director of Strategic Development at Energy Excange Istanbul (EXIST), and Avni Chebi and Yunus Emre İcik, Vice President of Commercial Operations and Natural Gas Field Development at BOTAŞ, spoke at the event about their energy projects, achievements and export-import activities.
