The Tajikistan national team achieved a historic result at the 2023 Asian Cup in Qatar, advancing to the playoffs of the tournament for the first time. In the final match of the group stage, the Tajik national team beat the Lebanese team with a score of 2:1.
The decisive goals were scored by Umarbayev in the 81st minute and Hamrokulov in the 92nd. From the 54th minute, the Lebanese played in the minority.
In another match of Group A, the host team of the tournament, Qatar, defeated the PRC team with a score of 1:0 and completed the group stage with three victories.
