The 2022 Asian Weightlifting Championships ended in Bahrain

The 2022 Asian Weightlifting Championships ended today in Manama (Bahrain), the IOC official website reports.

In the medal standings, the Chinese team took the lead with six gold medals in the biathlon.

The national team of Turkmenistan won two medals in biathlon at the Asian Weightlifting Championship.

In the weight category up to 71 kg, 28-year-old Gulnabat Kadyrova won silver in the snatch (102 kg), 5 kg short of her national record, and showed the fourth result in the clean and jerk (217 kg). In the sum of two exercises, Gulnabat Kadyrova gained 219 kg and took second place.

Two bronze medals - in the clean and jerk (97 kg) and biathlon (172 kg) - were won in the weight category up to 49 kg by the 24-year-old world champion 2018 in the weight up to 45 kg Yulduz Jumabayeva.

In December, weightlifting stars will gather for the main start of the year - from December 5 to 16, the 2022 World Championship will be held in Bogota (Colombia).
