The admissions campaign for universities and vocational schools has begun in Turkmenistan

Today, the admissions campaign for higher and secondary vocational educational institutions in the country began in Ashgabat, Arkadag, and all velayats of Turkmenistan.The plans for admission to universities and secondary vocational educational institutions in Turkmenistan in 2026 were approved by the corresponding Order of the President of Turkmenistan, signed on the 10th of July during an extended meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan.

The 2026 admissions campaign will be held in the country from the 13th of July to 24th of August, during which documents from applicants have begun to be accepted in Ashgabat, the city of Arkadag, and the velayats.

This will be followed by entrance examinations, which will be held at the locations of higher and secondary vocational educational institutions in Turkmenistan.The procedure for admission to universities and vocational schools in Turkmenistan in 2026 was published on the 11th of July in the central print media of the country.

It contains comprehensive information for applicants about the specialties offered by educational institutions, areas of study, the documents required for admission, the deadlines for submitting them, the conduct of entrance examinations, as well as the addresses and contact information of educational institutions.

The start of the admissions campaign in the country was ensured at a high organisational level.A specially created State Commission, whose composition was also approved by the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan during a government meeting, began work on the ground.

The State Commission is called upon to provide organisational and methodological guidance for admission to universities and vocational schools in the country and to ensure that it is carried out in accordance with the established procedure.

The hakimliks of the velayats and the cities of Ashgabat and Arkadag are instructed to create the necessary conditions for the proper functioning of working commissions for admission to higher and secondary vocational educational institutions.

Having signed the relevant Orders, the President of Turkmenistan wished great success to young people seeking to enroll in education.President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasised that the universities of the country should admit talented, deserving representatives of the younger generation, and that entrance examinations should be conducted in an organized and fair manner, ensuring public oversight.

The head of state noted the importance of proper preparation for the new academic year and timely completion of repairs at educational institutions.The President noted that new buildings of the Turkmen state institute of architecture and construction and the Turkmen state pedagogical institute named after Seyitnazar Seydi will be opened this year.

In this regard, it was instructed to properly prepare for the commissioning ceremonies of the facilities and to continue work to improve the activities of these higher education institutions.

During the meeting, the head of state emphasised the need to effectively continue scientific research activities and take specific measures to implement scientific developments in economic sectors.Further work to create conditions for attracting young people to sports was also identified as one of the most important tasks.
