The air fleet of Turkmenistan is increasing its potential

Air transport in Turkmenistan is one of the most developed among Central Asian countries. The country's civil aviation has 28 Boeing aircraft at its disposal.

At the same time, the geography of air cargo transportation is actively expanding, reports CentralAsia.news.

In particular, new airplanes and helicopters are being purchased, personnel training is being upgraded, new airports are being built and existing airports are being improved.

Air traffic between Turkmenistan and other countries is gradually being restored after a long period of the global pandemic. At present time, flights are operated from Ashgabat to Istanbul, Moscow, Kazan, London, Frankfurt, Beijing, Dubai, and Delhi.

For a long time, “Turkmen Airlines” has been consistently committed to Boeing aircraft for air cargo transportation. However, in 2023, two new A300-200Р2F cargo aircraft from the French company Airbus S.A.S arrived in Turkmenistan for the first time.

It is also planned to purchase new Boeing aircraft, and then the fleet of cargo ships will consist of 11 ships.

Turkmenistan currently operates air cargo services with China, Russia, Italy, Vietnam, the Republic of Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Thailand, Kazakhstan, and Germany.

International airports of Turkmenistan receive cargo aircraft from such airlines as Challenge Airlines (Belgium), Cargolux Airlines S.A.S (Luxembourg), Moalem Aviation (Kyrgyzstan) and others.

In the future, the material and technical base of airports will be modernized, the source notes.
