The new city of Arkadag is located on land that remembers the famous Ahal-Teke horses and equally famous horse trainers.The horse-breeding profile of the city is confirmed by the original sculptural composition “Akhan”, personifying the image of the legendary horse, whose name was included in the Guinness World Records for the first time in the history of Ahal-Teke horse breeding.
To maintain the horse-breeding tradition, which is historically connected with this land, the International Academy of Horse Breeding was opened here, named after Aba Annayev, a famous, talented horse breeder-breeder who made a huge personal contribution to the development of this art.
The Academy building is built in the shape of a horseshoe, a symbol of happiness and prosperity.The decoration elements also repeat the image of a horseshoe, including harmala rims and amulets made of dagdan, which are considered attributes of protecting a good beginning.
The Academy was created to solve problems of preserving the breeding purity of Ahal-Teke horses, increasing the purebred livestock, and training specialists capable of developing domestic horse breeding on a scientific basis.
The Academy trains specialists in the areas of horse breeding, veterinary medicine, equestrian sports, tourism and national equestrian games, equestrianism, breeding and nursing of horses, diagnosis and treatment of equine diseases, epizootology and parasitology, organization and management of agriculture, agricultural economics and social studies.
Scientific research is already underway here, there are achievements, developments are being developed in various areas of horse breeding.
The international status of the Academy also allows for interaction with Ahal-Teke horse breeding centers of other countries, helps to increase the prestige and popularization of Ahal-Teke horses, and serves mutually beneficial scientific and practical cooperation.
The activities of the Academy also include the creative activities of the world-famous group of national equestrian games “Galkynysh”. The group took part in prestigious international circus festivals and was awarded high awards.
Today, a group of the best seis and riders of Turkmenistan began training within the Academy. The state provided them with the opportunity for professional growth and realization of their potential. They will have to raise interstate partnership in hippology to new heights.
