The number of people with a net worth of more than 30 million USD, the so-called ultra-high net worth (UHNW), increased by 8% over the past year, according to the latest report from Altrata.
Their total wealth grew by 7%, reaching an impressive 49 trillion USD by 2023.This was facilitated by the growth of the stock market at the end of the year, reports RG.RU with reference to CNBC.
The United States leads in the growth of super-rich citizens. There are currently 426 330 people in the world whose wealth exceeds 30 million USD. In the United States, the number grew by 13% to 147 950, a third of the global total.
New York tops the list of cities with the most ultra-wealthy residents. It is followed by Hong Kong, Los Angeles and Tokyo.
Experts predict further growth in the number of super-rich. Their number is expected to increase by 38% over the next five years, reaching 587 650 people. At the same time, their combined wealth could grow by an additional 19 trillion USD.
This trend opens up new prospects for companies specializing in serving ultra-high-income clients.
