The delegation of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, led by April 21 to 27, 2024, is on a working visit to Georgia, the press service of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia told Turkmenportal
Within the framework of the visit, an introductory meeting of the delegation was held in the Parliament of Georgia, in which the First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Budget and Finance, Mr. Gogi Meshveliani, and committee specialists took part on the Georgian side.
During the meeting, the Georgian side introduced the delegation to the main functions and tasks of the highest legislative body of Georgia, as well as the Budget and Finance Committee. The parties discussed issues of interparliamentary cooperation, exchange of legislative experience, as well as interaction on issues of mutual interest.
Particular attention was paid to the topic of assistance by legislators of the two countries to the development of interstate trade and economic relations, intensification of cultural and humanitarian contacts, strengthening ties in the fields of education and science, sports and tourism.
The parties expressed mutual interest in further expanding and deepening cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries.
