On the eve of Diplomat's Day, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Romania organized and held an international conference entitled “Magtymguly Fragi - Turkmen educator, thinker and poet of the world”.
The forum was held at the National Library of Romania, and was attended by representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in the country, members of Parliament, heads of ministries and departments, rectors of leading universities, representatives of academia, museums, chambers of commerce and industry, Turkmen students studying in educational institutions of Romania, and the media.
During the speeches, the importance of Magtymguly’s creative heritage in educating the younger generation in the spirit of patriotism, activities to popularize it, launched in Turkmenistan under the leadership of President SerdarBerdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, were noted.
During the event, videos about the life of Magtymguly Fragi and a documentary about Turkmenistan prepared by Romanian National Television were shown. Students recited poems by the great classic of Turkmen literature in different languages.
After the plenary session, the guests were shown a small concert of Turkmen folk music, after which everyone was invited to taste national cuisine.
As a gift, the event participants were presented with a collection of poems by Magtymguly Fraga in Romanian, information bookmarks about the trilingual website “Magtymguly” and souvenirs on the topic.
Within the framework of the conference, an exhibition was organized, which will be on display at the National Library of Romania until February 25, reports the press service of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Bucharest.
