Football players of the national team of Turkmenistan under the leadership of the head coach Mergen Orazov will hold a training camp in the UAE capital Abu Dhabi from March 25 to 30. This was reported by the press service of the Football Federation of Turkmenistan (FFT).
Today, the national team flew to Malaysia, where on March 23 they will play their first friendly match under the leadership of Orazov.
It is worth noting that the new head coach, before leaving for Malaysia, spent a week training camp in Ashgabat with the team. Today, he also announced the list of 24 players he invited to the March training camp.
It is important to emphasize that these training camps and the friendly match will become an important part of the preparation of the Turkmenistan national team for the CAFA-2023 championship and the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Let us remind that the qualifying tournament for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Asia will be held from October 2023 to November 2025 and will determine the participants of the World Cup from the AFC.
The first two rounds will also be part of the Asian Cup 2027 qualifying tournament
8 teams from Asia will qualify for the final tournament, another team will participate in the intercontinental play-offs.
