The OSCE Centre conducts a training course for aviation security at checkpoints and airports in Ashgabat

From 18 to 27 April an OSCE-organized training course on security procedures at aviation checkpoints at the airport and analysis of X-ray images for recognizing prohibited items, firearms and explosive devices was held in Ashgabat.

The practical training course, which brought together 19 officials from the Aviation Security Service, the Transport Police of the Interior Ministry, the State Border Service and the State Customs Service, was organized by the OSCE Centre in Ashgabat.

The OSCE also provided training software for analysing X-ray images while screening passengers’ luggage.

Let us recall that on 21 April the President of Turkmenistan severely reprimanded the Chairperson of Turkmenistan’s Airlines Dovran Saburov.

On 28 March a plane operated by the Swedish airlines made an emergency landing at Ashgabat airport because of a passenger’s medical condition.Instead of providing accommodation in a hotel, the passengers were left at the passport control area of the airport building.
