On YouTube channel “Erkin Turkmenistan”, which reported the death of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov, has posted a new video.
The author of the news outlet reports that the President is not dead but was in a coma for two days but allegedly came round.
According to the latest reports, voiced in the video, Berdymukhammedov was in a coma on 20 and 21 July, but regained consciousness in the morning of 22 July.
The author complains of the sources which had let him down, apologizes and asks the audience to understand how difficult it is to obtain information from Turkmenistan.
It should be emphasized that the primary source of information about the President’s alleged death was this channel. Now the title of the video has been changed and a question mark was put at the end.
The next day after the President’s death Director of the Center for Eurasian Problems Monitoring Arslan Rubayev spoke about Berdymukhammedov’s death in an interview to the radio station “Govorit Moskva” referring to his sources in the business community.
That same evening Rubayev refuted his own reports and complained about changed information from the same source.
The reason behind the broadcast of this information was the fact that the head of Turkmenistan has appeared in public only once since 5 July, but the official media outlets did not comment on the President’s “disappearance”.
According to sources of “Chronicles of Turkmenistan”, Berdymukhammedov’s absence in the media space is related to the critical condition of his mother, Ogulabat Berdymukhammedova, who, according to reports as of 21 July, has been undergoing a course of medical treatment in Germany for 10 days.
