The Turkmen delegation studied the advanced experience of Armenia in the field of financial reporting

The delegation of Turkmenistan, consisting of representatives of the State Committee on Statistics and the Ministry of Finance and Economy, made a study visit to Yerevan from June 26 to 30 in order to study the experience and best practices of Armenia in the field of financial reporting, as well as to identify potential areas for further cooperation.

The visit was organized within the framework of the project “Strengthening the institutional, statistical and information technology potential of the State Committee of Turkmenistan on Statistics”, jointly implemented by UNDP and the State Statistics Committee of Turkmenistan.

The five-day visit included meetings with representatives of ministries and state structures of the Republic of Armenia, including the Ministry of Finance, the Statistical Committee (ArmStat), the Central Bank and the State Revenue Committee.

During the visit, the members of the Turkmen delegation learned about the statistical methodology practiced in Armenia and tools for compiling financial accounts, as well as familiarized their colleagues with methodological issues, data sources, the current state of compiling financial accounts in Turkmenistan, including the process of implementing the transition to the 2008 SNA .

The study tour is expected to contribute to Turkmenistan's efforts to develop financial accounts in line with the statistical standards of the 2008 SNA and strengthen the country's institutional and statistical capacity in the area of national accounts, according to a UNDP press release.
