The UAE Embassy in Turkmenistan organized a campaign to promote COP28

At the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan in Mary, the Embassy of the UAE and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan organized an information campaign dedicated to the 28th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28), which will be held at Expo City Dubai from November 30 to December 12, 2023.

Within the framework of the campaign, a seminar was held on the topic “Joint efforts of the UAE and Turkmenistan to protect the environment through the implementation of projects in the field of renewable energy sources”.

The event was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates to Turkmenistan Ahmed Al Hameli, representatives of Masdar (UAE) headed by the Head of Development and Investment in Africa and the CIS Abdullah Zaid, the rector of the institute Serdar Nazarov, teaching staff, graduate students and university students.

The meeting was held within the framework of a working visit of Masdar company representatives to Turkmenistan. Let us note that Masdar is a leader in the UAE and one of the fastest growing companies in the world in the field of renewable energy and sustainable development.

In November 2022, an agreement was signed between the State Energy Corporation of Turkmenistan “Turkmenenergo” and Masdar to develop a 100-megawatt solar photovoltaic project.

Relations between Turkmenistan and the UAE are developing dynamically in both bilateral and multilateral formats. Turkmen-Emirati relations are traditionally friendly and fruitful, acquiring new quality and content every year for the benefit of socio-economic development and well-being of the two states and peoples.
