The Uzbekistan 2030 Strategy was presented in Ashgabat

On the 28th of January, the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Turkmenistan held a briefing dedicated to the content and process of updating the Uzbekistan 2030 Strategy.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ravshanbek Alimov briefed media representatives on the key objectives of the policy document, which defines the vectors for the long-term sustainable development of Uzbekistan.

The strategy includes one hundred goals in five priority areas, covering the social sphere, economic growth, conservation of natural resources and ensuring the rule of law.Particular attention is paid to creating conditions for the realisation of potential of citizens and the consistent continuation of foreign policy based on the principle of a secure and peaceful state.

Strengthening regional cooperation was an important topic of the briefing.In geopolitical context of today, Central Asia is reclaiming its historical role from the time of the Great Silk Road, serving as a bridge between East and West, North and South.

The updated Strategy serves as the foundation for these processes, placing emphasis on a policy of good-neighbourliness and mutual trust.For Uzbekistan, expanding relations with fraternal Turkmenistan is of particular importance.

Thanks to the strong political will of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, cooperation between the two countries has reached a qualitatively new level of strategic partnership.

During the speech, it was noted that open Uzbekistan remains a reliable partner for Turkmenistan in the implementation of large-scale transregional projects, including the development of transport and transit corridors and the expansion of trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian ties.

The implementation of the Uzbekistan 2030 Strategy directly contributes to strengthening the security and prosperity of the entire region.The draft document is currently undergoing a broad public discussion process, which allows it to take into account the real needs of citizens.

The updated program aims to give new impetus to strengthening friendly Uzbek-Turkmen relations for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries.
