Train speeds to be reduced in Turkmenistan because of a heat wave. Trains are expected to be delayed.

“Turkmen railways” is expected to reduce the speed of trains in July and August because of a heat wave, the agency reports.

The decision on limiting the train speeds has been made because in July and August the temperature of steel parts of the railroad tracks will be extremely high, which increases the risk of their wear and tear as well as deformation.

In this connection passenger trains might be delayed.

“Meteojournal” reports that for ten consecutive days temperatures of +40 degrees has been recorded in Turkmenistan.

In some provinces the temperature got as high as +49 degrees.

Moreover, over the past 50 years temperatures of +44 degrees Celsius and higher have been recorded by 37% more often.The post Train speeds to be reduced in Turkmenistan because of a heat wave.
