Turkey is against introducing a visa regime with Turkmenistan

In late May two independent sources of “Chronicles of Turkmenistan” reported that Ashgabat and Ankara were reviewing the possibility of abolishing a visa-free regime for Turkmen nationals to enter Turkey.

The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Ankara even made arrangements with a Turkish company to provide services for Turkmen nationals in obtaining Turkish visas.

However, the authorities of Turkey are strongly opposing this idea, Vice President of Turkey Fuat Oktay said at the meeting with President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdymukhammedov on 1 July, correspondents of “Chronicles of Turkmenistan” report.

“The entire Turkic-speaking community travels to Turkey unhampered, without any visas and we do not want to impose restrictions on anyone”, Fuat Oktay was quoted as saying. The post Turkey is against introducing a visa regime with Turkmenistan first appeared on Chronicles of Turkmenistan.
