Turkmen athletes start at the Asian Games in Hangzhou

On the first day of the Asian Games in Hangzhou, athletes of Turkmenistan competed in four sports: swimming, judo, boxing and wushu sanda, reports the publication “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”.

In swimming, Musa Zhalaev showed the 23rd result in the 100-meter freestyle, and Merdan Ataev failed to reach the final in the 100-meter backstroke.

In judo, Aybek Omirov and Hekim Agamammedov won their first matches, but in the next round they lost to opponents from Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea. Kurbanay Kurbanova and Sayara Rozyeva finished their performance at the Asian Games, losing in the first round.

In boxing, Hursand Imankuliev lost in the first fight to the 2023 World Championship finalist from Mongolia.

In Wushu Sanda, Agajumageldi Yazymov reached the second round of the competition in the weight category up to 60 kg, receiving a technical victory over the Mongolian due to his opponent’s excess weight.

Let us remind you that the 19th Summer Asian Games will last until October 8. Turkmenistan is represented at the Games in 3x3 basketball, boxing, freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling, jiu-jitsu, judo, kurash wrestling, karate, athletics, swimming, weightlifting and wushu.
