Turkmen, Italian Officials Discuss Ways to Increase Bilateral Trade Turnover

Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Italy Toyly Komekov held talks with the President of the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) Carlo Ferro in Rome on Wednesday. The officials discussed interaction in various fields, including issues of increasing trade and expanding trade and investment opportunities.

The sides stressed the importance of the meeting in the context of prospects for the further development of economic cooperation between the two countries, the Turkmen Embassy in Italy said in its press release.

Appreciating the results achieved during the official visit of Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Italy on November 6-7 in 2019 and the Turkmen-Italian business forum held during it, the parties agreed on the need to fully use the potential of interaction in the trade-economic sphere and encourage business circles of the two countries to build cooperation relations.

The officials also emphasized the importance of the exchange of know-how and modern technologies between the enterprises of Turkmenistan and Italy in areas of mutual interest.

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed confidence in continuing effective partnership in the trade-economic sphere, highlighting the importance of discussion of joint initiatives and implementation of specific measures for development of business relations between the Italian Trade Agency and interested departments of Turkmenistan in the future.

ITA is a government agency of the Italian Republic whose purpose is to promote foreign trade and Italy's exports, as well as develop economic and trade relations with foreign countries.
