Turkmen karate athlete wins gold at tournament in the UAE

Turkmen athlete Jora Ovezmyradov won a gold medal at an international tournament held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.The “Dubai International Doka Cup 2026” competition was conducted under the auspices of the World Karate Federation (WKF) and brought together 697 athletes from 18 countries.

Jora Ovezmyradov earned the highest award in the kumite event in the under-55 kg weight category.The tournament winner is a 12th-grade student at Specialized Secondary School No. 52 in Ashgabat and trains in karate under the guidance of Aydyn Charyev, head coach of the Turkmenistan national team.
