Turkmen athletes won 23 medals of various denominations at the first international karate tournament (WKF) “UZBEKISTAN OPEN 2024” that ended in Urgench.
The competition brought together 293 participants from Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, ZV reports.
The Turkmenistan team included 74 athletes, 7 coaches and 10 referees. Based on the results of all types of programs, the Turkmen team won 5 gold, 5 silver and 13 bronze medals.
In the final medal standings, the Turkmenistan team took third place. The Turkmenistan team was prepared for these competitions by the coaching duo of Aidyn Charyev and Igor Rahimov.
