Turkmen, Kazakh Presidents Hold Talks in Astana

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held talks with Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in Astana on Tuesday during a state visit, the Kazakh President’s press service reported.

Tokayev described Turkmenistan as a strategic partner and a brotherly state, highlighting the successful development of trade and other forms of economic cooperation. He also emphasized the importance of cultural and humanitarian ties and expressed satisfaction with the current level of engagement.

Berdimuhamedov thanked his host for the invitation and warm welcome, conveying greetings from Turkmenistan’s National Leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. He noted that relations between the two countries are developing on the principles of friendship, brotherhood, and good-neighborliness.

The leaders discussed a wide range of cooperation, including political-diplomatic, trade and economic, and cultural-humanitarian areas. They stressed the need to further strengthen bilateral ties and agreed to continue active dialogue at the highest level.

High-level talks are also planned during the visit, and the leaders are expected to sign bilateral agreements.
