Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov Meets Tajik Counterpart in Dushanbe

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan held a meeting with President Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan on Thursday in Dushanbe, according to the Press Service of the President of Tajikistan.

The Presidents discussed various cooperation issues between Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, as well as the agenda for the upcoming Central Asian summit, to be held on September 14-15 in Dushanbe.

The discussions between the two leaders encompassed cooperation in the trade and economic sphere, including the increasing of the volume of trade turnover and fostering cultural and humanitarian ties.

The meeting also emphasized the importance of activating the activities of the Intergovernmental Commission of Tajikistan and Turkmenistan to further develop trade and economic relations. Additionally, the two sides exchanged views on other matters of mutual interest.

President Berdimuhamedov had arrived in the Tajik capital to participate in the fifth Anniversary Consultative Meeting of Heads of Central Asian States and the meeting of heads of founding states of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea (IFAS).
