Turkmen President Starts Visit to New York

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov arrived in New York on Sunday on a working visit to participate in the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

According to the official Turkmen media, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov's visit to the United States will last until September 20. Upon Arrival at the John F. Kennedy International Airport, the Head of Turkmenistan was greeted by officials.

During the visit, President Berdimuhamedov is also scheduled to participate in the Central Asia-US (C5+1) summit talks.

At the UN General Assembly, Turkmenistan will introduce new initiatives aimed at promoting global peace and security, as well as achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals. These initiatives will focus on enhancing international cooperation in areas such as energy, transportation, environment, climate change, and humanitarian efforts.

President Berdimuhamedov will also engage in several bilateral meetings, including one with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.

The 78th session of the UN General Assembly commenced on September 5 in New York. Various high-level events are scheduled to take place during this session from September 19 to 26.
