Turkmen President Visits Unmanned Aerial Vehicles Center

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on Monday visited the Center of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles under the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Minister of Internal Affairs Mammethan Chakiyev reported to the Head of State on the activities of the Center, as well as on the implementation of previously given instructions to modernize and increase its production capacity, TDH news agency reports.

Samples of various types of UAVs and information on their characteristics were presented to the Turkmen President.

The Center's specialist said the monitor installed at the hall allows to monitor the activities of the Center, where comprehensive work is underway to manufacture and launch UAVs, and produce their parts.

Turkmen President also got acquainted with the projects of facilities planned for construction as part of the General Plan for the construction of the Center for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles.

The projects include hangars for aircraft and motor vehicles, offices with a control center and an automatic control center for aircraft, an observation post, as well as the Center’s greenhouse buildings and an electric substation.

The Center for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan opened on August 4, 2015.
