Chairman of the Board of Directors of the State Bank for Foreign Economic Activity of Turkmenistan Rahymberdy Jepbarov and Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Berdiniyaz Matiev met with the General Director of the Saudi Fund for Development, Sultan bin Abdul Rahman Al-Murshed, at the Fund's headquarters in Riyadh.
During the meeting, both parties actively participated in discussions on strengthening development cooperation and promoting key sectors in Turkmenistan.The primary objective was to make significant contributions towards achieving sustainable development goals.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, the 20-year-old cooperation between the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Saudi Fund for Development was assessed.
On October 22, 2023, the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and Saudi Arabia held bilateral political consultations in Riyadh. The discussions occurred during a visit by a delegation led by Turkmenistan's Deputy Foreign Minister B. Myatiev to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Deputy Foreign Minister Waleed El-Khereiji represented the Saudi side.
During the consultations, the sides highly praised bilateral cooperation in political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian fields. They discussed further ways to develop the multifaceted Turkmen-Saudi relations.
Within the framework of the same visit, the Turkmen delegation held talks at the Ministry of Energy of Saudi Arabia. At the meeting, the sides discussed opportunities for cooperation between the two countries in the oil and gas and chemical sectors and in the field of renewable energy.
