Turkmen student won a grant to implement her own environmental project

Student of the Oguzhan Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan Ogulshirin Tacheva won the international scientific work competition Youth4Climate's Call for Solutions. The UNDP office in Turkmenistan reported this on the social network.

Tacheva presented her scientific project “Progressive and modern method of using recycled materials in everyday life” within the framework of the Youth4Climate: Sparking Solutions 2023 meeting, which was held in Rome (Italy) on October 17-19.

As the winner of the competition, the Turkmen student received a grant to continue her research work in Turkmenistan.

“I believe that this idea will be effective in minimizing pollution, and that as a young woman scientist I can play an important role in finding solutions to climate change”, - said Tacheva.

The Youth4Climate: Sparking Solutions 2023 event brought together 130 young people from 63 countries who proposed their projects in four thematic areas: urban sustainability, energy, food and agriculture, and education. Their projects were selected from more than 1100 entries submitted to the competition. The 70 best projects received grants.
