Turkmen Transport Agencies to Expand Their Aircraft and Maritime Fleets

Türkmenhowaýollary (Turkmen Airlines) and Türkmendeňizderýaýollary (Turkmen Maritime and River Transport) agencies will buy new planes and build marine vessels, which will result in creation of additional jobs, Mammethan Chakiyev, the General Director of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Turkmen Cabinet of Ministers, said during the online cabinet meeting hosted by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on Thursday.

In his report, the head of the Agency said new jobs will also be created with Türkmendemirýollary (Turkmen Railways) agency’s purchase of freight locomotives, Türkmenawtoulaglary (Turkmen Road Transport) agency’s purchase of cars and minibuses, and with the construction of passenger bus stations in provinces, sites for car racing, and KAMAZ training and service centers.

Türkmenaragatnaşyk (Turkmen Communications) Agency will also add new job openings with expansion of its communication lines and digital automatic telephone exchanges, introduction of new types of postal services, and construction of houses for employees of the sector and a modern administrative building in Ahal province, Chakiyev stated.

Following the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov said large public investments are directed to the transport and communications complex, adding that it is necessary to increase the production capacity of subordinate enterprises and create new jobs. He addressed specific instructions to the head of the Transport and Communications Agency to this end.

The government meeting also considered other issues, and adopted a number of documents and necessary decisions aimed at the development of the industries.
