Four medals - three bronze and one gold - were won by athletes of Turkmenistan at the Asian wrestling championship among cadets (under 17 years old) and youth (under 23 years old) that ended in Bishkek, "Turkmenistan: Golden Age" reports.
Cadets were the first to compete for the awards of the continental championship. In the freestyle wrestling tournament, in which 99 athletes from 13 countries competed for medals in ten weight categories, Turkmen athletes won two bronze medals.
The first to achieve this success was Alp Arslan Begenjov, a 10th grade student of the Ashgabat Boarding School for the preparation of young Olympians.In the weight category up to 71 kg, in which 11 wrestlers competed, Alp Arslan won in the first fight against Adilet Akylbekov (Kyrgyzstan) - 13:8.
Then, in the quarterfinals, he defeated Asadbek Fayzullaev (Uzbekistan) - 10:0.
In the semi-finals A.Begenjov lost to the future winner Seyedabolfazl Seyed Ayub Hosseini (Iran) - 0:10, and in the duel for 3rd place he won against Bilguundalai Purevdagva (Mongolia) - 10:0 and was awarded a bronze medal.
Narender Narender (India) won the second bronze in this weight category.Silver went to Nurdaulet Seilbekov (Kazakhstan), who lost in the final to the Asian champion from Iran.
The second bronze medal for the team of Turkmenistan in freestyle wrestling was brought by a student of the 10th grade of the Ashgabat boarding school for the preparation of young Olympians Dovletgeldi Muradov.
In the weight category up to 80 kg, in which 11 athletes competed, Dovletgeldi lost in the quarterfinals to the future champion Abolfazl Yaser Rahmani Firouzjai (Iran) - 0:4.

The master of sports of international class Zyyamuhammet Saparov rose to the highest step of the podium in the weight category up to 125 kg, in which 8 athletes fought for the title of the strongest.
On the way to this success, the 23-year-old 5th year student of the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Education and Sports won the quarterfinals against Munkhbayar Tsogtbayar (Mongolia) - 6:4, defeated Bali Sow from Cambodia in the semifinals, and was stronger than Abylai Sovet from Kazakhstan in the final.
Cambodian Bali Sow and Namoz Abdurashidov from Uzbekistan became bronze medalists in this weight category.
Another bronze medal was won by Turkmen athletes in the Asian Youth Championship (U23) in Greco-Roman wrestling, in which 60 athletes from 11 countries competed for awards in ten weight categories.
On the third step of the podium in the weight category up to 130 kg, in which 6 athletes fought for the title of the strongest, 22-year-old candidate for master of sports Aibegshazada Kurraev climbed.

The second meeting of the opponents ended with the score 4:0 also in favor of the wrestler from Turkmenistan.Wenhao Qian (China) became the champion in this weight category, and Dzhokhar Uzarov from Kazakhstan became the silver medalist.
The further plans of the Turkmen masters of wrestling include preparations for the upcoming World Championship in Belgrade in September, where the first tickets to the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris will be raffled off.
