President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov addressed the Turkmen-Georgian Business Forum in Tbilisi, outlining the key areas of bilateral cooperation.The main topics on the agenda were the development of transport and logistics infrastructure, the attraction of private capital, and the strengthening of business ties between the two countries.
In his speech, the President of Turkmenistan emphasized the high potential for cooperation in the fields of transport, logistics, communications, and the use of maritime terminals.The head of state paid particular attention to a large-scale joint project. “We are negotiating the establishment of a Turkmenistan cargo terminal on the Georgian Black Sea coast.
I believe that the business communities of the two countries should take an active part in implementing this project, putting the public-private partnership into practice through concrete action,” said President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
As the head of state emphasized, private businesses should be actively involved in the creation of related infrastructure and in making use of opportunities for the transit of goods and services.
In addition to the transport sector, the Turkmen side expressed interest in studying Georgia’s advanced experience in the fields of tourism and the services industry.President Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence that the forum would lay the foundation for a systematic and substantive dialogue between entrepreneurs of the two states and that similar business meetings would be held on a regular basis.
