The total volume of cooperation between Turkmenistan and German financial institutions stands at approximately $700 million, Serdar Yusupov, Deputy Head of the International Finance Department of the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan, said on Thursday at the Turkmenistan Economy Days forum in Frankfurt.
Joint projects have been implemented in key sectors of the national economy — including textiles, construction, healthcare, oil and gas, and petrochemicals — in cooperation with Deutsche Bank, Commerzbank, and the export credit agency Euler Hermes.
Yusupov noted that cooperation with German financial institutions is developing on a strategic and mutually beneficial basis.The State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs is open to discussing new areas of partnership and further development in financial services and investments, trade finance and documentary operations, modernization of banking infrastructure using advanced digital technologies, and the training of highly qualified personnel.
The Turkmenistan Economic Days forum brought together business representatives from both countries to discuss prospects for bilateral cooperation.
Forum participants addressed a wide range of topics, from trade and economic relations and attracting foreign direct investment to the development of transport and logistics corridors and energy partnerships. Key topics included the transition to a green economy, digital transformation, and the development of e-government.
The international event was organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan, with TMT Consulting Group serving as co-organizer, providing organizational and communication support for the forum.
