Turkmenistan and IOM discussed the implementation of joint programs

The progress in implementing the joint programs scheduled for the current year was discussed today at a meeting with experts from the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Turkmenistan.

From the Turkmen side, representatives of the ministries of foreign affairs, finance and economy, labor and social protection of the population, as well as the migration service, the State Committee on Statistics, the Institute of State, Law and Democracy took part in it.

During the meeting, which was held via videoconference, a constructive exchange of views took place on the development of a draft national strategy on migration, collection and analysis of indicators in this area.

IOM representatives emphasized that their research activities, carried out in different countries of the world, cover a number of relevant areas, including such as migration trends and data on migration, international migration legislation, migration and development, health and migration, combating illegal import of migrants, labor migration, international trade, etc.

In this regard, the experts announced the results of joint activities, as well as current and long-term plans and projects, highly appreciating the activities of Turkmenistan to implement joint agreements, the State News Agency of our country reports.
