Turkmenistan and Malaysia are strengthening their partnership in the economic, logistics, and humanitarian spheres

During talks between President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Prime-minister of Malaysia Anwar Ibrahim, held in Ashgabat, agreements were reached to strengthen relations across a wide range of economic sectors and in the cultural and humanitarian spheres.

In addition to continuing strategic cooperation in the oil and gas sector with Petronas, the parties confirmed their readiness to develop cooperation in such sectors as industry, agriculture, and textiles.

High technology, technical and engineering cooperation, banking and financial activities, and urban development were also named as priority areas for joint work.Particular attention was paid to the transport and logistics sector during the talks Turkmenistan and Malaysia intend to expand their partnership within the framework of the creation of an international transport corridor in the East-West direction.

The head of state also focused on developing ties in the cultural and humanitarian spheres.President Serdar Berdimuhamedov confirmed that the practice of educating Turkmen students in Malaysian higher education institutions will continue and expressed gratitude to Prime-minister Anwar Ibrahim for his assistance in this area.
