In the frames of the visit, on October 16, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan B. Myatiev met with the State Minister for Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, Sultan bin Saad Al-Muraiki.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of expanding bilateral relations in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres. The importance of visits at the highest and high levels in promoting mutually beneficial interstate cooperation was emphasized.
Along with this, the sides considered the possibility of intensifying cooperation in the investment and transport sectors. The necessity of improving the legal framework for bilateral cooperation was also noted.
Apart from that, a meeting was organized between the delegation of Turkmenistan and the management of the Ministry of Energy of the State of Qatar.
During the talks, the parties exchanged views on the development of mutually beneficial ties in the energy sector between the two countries. In particular, investment projects in various sectors of the economy were discussed.
The Turkmen delegation also met with the managers of the Qatar Development Bank, during which were discussed perspective areas of trade and economic partnership. In this regard, the parties considered issues related to the expansion of cooperation in the financial and banking sectors.
On October 17, 2022, within the working visit of the Turkmen delegation headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan B.Myatiev to the State of Qatar, a meeting was held with the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar Dr. Ahmad Hassen Al-Hammadi.
In the course of talks, the parties discussed a wide range of issues on the bilateral agenda in the political and diplomatic spheres. In this regard, the importance of holding political consultations between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries was emphasized.
Issues related to the strengthening of relations in the trade, economic, investment and transport spheres were considered. The diplomats also discussed the possibility of expanding contacts in the area of cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
On the same day, the Turkmen delegation met with the senior officials of the National Bank, as well as the Development Fund of the State of Qatar.
During these meetings, the current state and prospects for cooperation between the two countries in the field of trade and finance, banking activities were discussed, concrete steps were outlined for further enhancing ties in the mentioned areas. The interest of the parties to intensify the investment partnership was highlighted.
In addition, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan B.Myatiev met with the President of the National Olympic Committee of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani whereby attention was paid to interaction in the sports field, in particular, the issue of establishing effective cooperation between the National Olympic Committees of the two countries was considered.
