Turkmenistan and South Korea to Cooperate in Shipbuilding

National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, held a meeting with Speaker of the National Assembly of South Korea Kim Jin-pyo in Ashgabat on Thursday, during which Turkmenistan's interest in increasing cooperation in shipbuilding was emphasized.

The National Leader of the Turkmen people said that Korean companies will have an opportunity to participate in projects implemented in various spheres of Turkmenistan, the official Turkmen media reported.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also said that Turkmenistan plans to propose holding the second meeting of the Central Asia-Korea parliamentary speakers in Ashgabat in 2024.

Kim Jin-pyo noted that major Korean companies are ready to work with Turkmenistan in the gas and chemical industries.

The Speaker of the National Assembly also noted that Korean companies are interested in participating in the construction of industrial facilities within the second phase of Arkadag city in Turkmenistan.

At the end of the meeting, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, presented the "Bitaraplyk" Order to the Speaker of the National Assembly of South Korea Kim Jin-pyo.
