Turkmenistan and the EBRD will continue working on the North-South and East-West transport corridor projects

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the head of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Odile Renaud-Basso, who arrived in Turkmenistan on a working visit.During the meeting, the current state and prospects for long-term partnership were discussed.

As the head of state emphasised, Turkmenistan attaches great importance to effective cooperation with the EBRD in the trade, economic, financial, and banking sectors.President Serdar Berdimuhamedov identified energy, transport, the digital economy, and environmental protection as key areas for further cooperation.

Particular attention at the meeting was paid to the transport and logistics sector.The head of state noted that advantageous geographic location of Turkmenistan creates a platform for the development of modern transport infrastructure and the formation of multimodal international corridors in the North-South and East-West directions.

The President of Turkmenistan confirmed the readiness of the country to deepen and expand practical cooperation with the EBRD on the joint implementation of large-scale infrastructure projects.
