Turkmenistan and the EU discussed strengthening economic partnership

A round table “Turkmenistan and the EU: towards a new economic partnership” was held in Brussels, reports the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.

Organized in a hybrid format with the participation of the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, and the Director General of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Mammethan Chakyev, the event brought together over 120 participants.

During the meeting, representatives of the business community and expert community from Turkmenistan and the EU discussed the prospects for bilateral cooperation in the energy, investment and trade fields.

The heads of a number of international structures spoke, including the European Commission's Directorate General for International Partnerships, the European Institute of Asian Studies, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, as well as a number of leading European companies.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov noted the significant potential for increasing economic cooperation between Turkmenistan and the European Union.
