Turkmenistan and the United Kingdom Expand Cooperation in Science and Culture

As a separate item of the visit programme to the United Kingdom, a meeting was held between the Turkmen delegation led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, and Professor Timothy Williams of the Institute of Archaeology at University College London (UCL).

Following the meeting, an Agreement was signed between the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan and the UCL Institute of Archaeology.About this reports MFA of Turkmenistan.During the discussion, the Turkmen side highlighted Timothy Williams’ longstanding contribution to the study and preservation of Turkmenistan’s archaeological heritage, particularly Ancient Merv.

The importance of joint scientific research and the development of museum and exhibition cooperation was emphasized.As a result of the meeting, an Agreement was signed between the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan and the UCL Institute of Archaeology aimed at further expanding partnership, conducting joint expeditions, advancing scientific research, and training specialists.
