Turkmenistan and Türkiye are developing tourism based on their shared heritage and strategic partnership

On the 14th of April, the Turkish tourism Week officially opened at the Turkish Cultural centre in Ashgabat.The event was attended by diplomats, representatives of the tourism industry, cultural figures and the media.

The guest of honour of the ceremony was deputy minister of culture and tourism of the Republic of Türkiye Nadir Alpaslan.In his speech, the Turkish guest emphasised that Turkmenistan is the homeland and cradle of common civilisation for both peoples.

He also noted that the concept of One nation, two states is also reflected in the tourism sector.One of the main topics of the speech was the proposal to introduce the Turkish model of industry development in Turkmenistan.

According to the deputy minister, the combination of global brand of Türkiye and the unique heritage of Turkmenistan − Ancient Merv, Nisa, Kone-Urgench, and the unique ecosystem of the Garagum will transform the Great Silk road corridor into one of the most sought-after global tourism destinations.

Our goal is to increase mutual investment and more efficient use of our transport networks through a collective approach and cooperation between representatives of the public and private sectors.

By uniting, we increase not only the number of visitors, but also the prosperity of our brotherhood.I hope that Türkiye tourism Week will open up new avenues of cooperation between our countries, − said Nadir Alpaslan.
