Turkmenistan announced its readiness to supply electricity and gas to Tajikistan

National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov announced the country’s readiness to supply electricity and natural gas to Tajikistan through the territory of Uzbekistan. This initiative is considered as one of the promising areas of cooperation between countries, reports the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.

The head of the highest body of people's power of Turkmenistan emphasized that Ashgabat is ready to carry out such interaction on a systematic basis and discuss in detail technical, organizational and other supply issues. If necessary, it is planned to organize a trilateral meeting with the participation of experts from Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

In addition, Turkmenistan interacts with Tajikistan in the field of supplies of petroleum products and is ready to increase their volumes depending on the needs of the Tajik side. The countries already have experience of partnership in the electricity sector.
