Turkmenistan, Belarus Aim to Intensify Trade, Transport Cooperation

Mammethan Chakiyev, the General Director of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Turkmen Cabinet of Ministers, and Co-Chairman of the Intergovernmental Belarusian-Turkmen Economic Cooperation Commission and Ambassador of Belarus to Turkmenistan Vyacheslav Beskosty in a meeting on Saturday confirmed readiness to intensify the pace of trade-economic cooperation and interaction in the field of transport.

The sides discussed in detail the bilateral issues, including preparations for the 10th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus said in its Monday press release.

On Friday, the Belarussian envoy met with Annageldy Yazmyradov, the Deputy Chairman of the Turkmen Government in charge of the agro-industrial complex, to discuss issues of mutual trade in agricultural products and prospects of supplies of Belarusian equipment for the needs of Turkmenistan's agriculture.

Turkmenistan Airlines started regular flights to the Belarussian capital Minsk from October 1. The national airline of Belarus Belavia will resume regular flights to Turkmenistan in mid-October.
