The 60th birthday of President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov was celebrated in Turkmenistan on 29 June.
The state-run information agencies TDH and “Turkmenistan: Golden Age” published articles devoted to the President’s accomplishments, which describe the development of the country under the leadership of wise Arkadag.
The newspaper “Neitralny Turkmenistan” published a poem “Arkadag, you are the embodiment of the great history of our ancestors!”
The President received birthday greetings from the heads of several countries, namely, Shavkat Mirziyoyev (Uzbekistan), Almazbek Atambaev (Kyrgyzstan), Nursultan Nazarbaev (Kazakhstan), Emomali Rakhmon (Tajikistan), Recep Erdogan (Turkey), Abdullah Gül (ex President of Turkey), Rustam Minnikhanov (Tatarstan) and others.
President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin awarded Berdymukhammedov the Order of Aleksandr Nevsky, sent him a telegram and made a telephone call.
Another order “Gagauz Eri” was awarded to President Berdymukhammedov by the head of the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia Irina Vlakh for his personal contribution in developing relationships between the two fraternal nations.
Chairperson of the Interstate oil company “Soyuzneftegas” Yuriy Shafranik presented the President with a badge “A Miner of Russia” for the contribution in developing the mining industry of Turkmenistan.
Later the same day Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov took part in the opening ceremony of “Gala” cultural and entertainment centre and held a session of the Cabinet of Ministers.
Before the start of the Cabinet session the President presented a book “The glorious epoch of Arkadag” to members of the government as a memorable gift. After the session the ambassadors of the countries accredited in Turkmenistan congratulated the President.
Concerts and festivities were held across the entire country.
