Flower-laying ceremonies to the monuments of military glory have been held in all cities across Turkmenistan.
Since early in the morning on 9 May only public sector employees, who were sent there by order, were granted access to the monuments. All of them, wearing similar clothes and holding identical flowers in their hands, headed to the “Eternal flame” in rows.
Those, who voluntarily came to pay tribute to the fallen soldiers, had to wait until midday after the scheduled festivities were over and beautiful shots for television footage were made.
“Immortal regiment” march was not held in Ashgabat and other cities.
According some sources, no permission was given by the authorities.In the capital residents got together in the park in front of the monument to Kemine, congratulated each other and sang the war songs.
