On May 16, 2024, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Ukraine held an event in honor of the Turkmen Carpet Day, which is widely celebrated annually on the last Sunday of May.
The event was attended by family members of diplomats accredited in Ukraine, local diplomats, and representatives of the State Enterprise of Ukraine "General Directorate for the Service of Foreign Missions", reports the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Ukraine.
Participants were given an overview of the history of Turkmen carpet weaving, including the unique techniques of this ancient art that have been preserved and passed down through generations.
The event featured an exhibition of the national and cultural values of the Turkmen people, including handmade national jewelry, traditional clothing, decorative painting, embroidery, and crafts.
As part of the event, there was also an exhibition of the book "Youth - the Support of the Homeland" by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, along with numerous works by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, translated into Ukrainian.
